DUNDONALD LINKS: A LUXURY GOLF RESORT IN AYRSHIRE, SCOTLAND

When it comes to Golf in Scotland, Dundonald Links has quickly become “must play”. Our Par 72 course, located at the very heart of Ayrshire, offers a classic links golf experience for all to savour. Generous fairways, undulating greens and a wide choice of tees make it an enjoyable test for everyone that visits us.

The first Dundonald Links layout was designed by 1883 Open Champion Willie Fernie, and opened on March 23rd, 1911. At 6700 yards, it was one of the longest golf courses of its time. Following two World Wars, the site was almost unrecognisable.

Dundonald Links was purchased by Loch Lomond Golf Club in early 2003 to provide its global Membership with a traditional links challenge. They enlisted California-based architect Kyle Phillips, who had recently built Kingsbarns, to create a links masterpiece right here on the Ayrshire coast.

With the stunning coastal land that presented itself to Kyle Phillips, he saw the opportunity to create the ultimate modern links layout. Featuring everything you would expect from a world class modern links course, Dundonald Links has wonderful undulations, a generous helping of gorse bushes and unlike many traditional links courses, there are areas of the course that are framed by stunning pine trees.

Welcome to the Gullane golf club

Course No. 2

Laid out by the two time Open championship winner Willie Park Jr in 1898, Gullane No. 2 runs alongside No. 1 for the first seven holes before sweeping down to a nature reserve next to Aberlady Bay.  The course turns towards home from the 13th tee with the prevailing wind, down Gullane Hill back to the new Gullane Links Clubhouse (opened June 2021).  The beauty of the East Lothian coastline and the challenge of the layout create an unforgettable round that epitomises links golf in Scotland. In particular, Gullane No. 2 is renowned for the challenge of its short holes embodied by the 215-yard, par three 11th with its wonderful views, testing downhill tee shot and tricky club selection.

At 6,396 yards, No. 2 is shorter than its older sibling but provides an equally stern test as it proved during final qualifying for the Open Championship in 1980, the Millennium Seniors Open Amateur Championship and the British Girls Home International Matches in 2011. National Club Golfer magazine rated Gullane No. 2 as the 39th best course in Scotland in 2019.  With challenge and charm in equal doses, Gullane No. 2 is a favourite with those who enjoy their golf with a twist in its tail.

Cruden Bay – The Course

Cruden Bay is situated on the east coast of Scotland 23 miles north of Aberdeen and 8 miles south of Peterhead. Only two hours drive from St Andrews, the “Home of Golf”.

It is claimed that golf was played in the village of Cruden Bay as early as 1791. The original course, on the present site, was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) following the expansion of the railways at the end of the 19th century, designed by Old Tom Morris of St Andrews, and opened in 1899.

Cruden Bay offers an internationally famous golfing experience – old fashioned links golf at its best – on one of the best links courses in Scotland, and in 2015 was placed at No 52 in the world by “Golf Magazine”.
We are a warm and welcoming club that caters for both members and visiting golfers from across the globe.  Our experienced pro shop staff, first class bar and catering staff and the club’s administration team ensures a warm welcome and promises that your day playing golf at Cruden Bay will be one to remember.

Stirling Golf Club, Stirling

stirling golf club, Stirling

The course is a Scottish Golf Championship Venue and is consistently in superb condition. Its current layout was designed in 1966 by Sir Henry Cotton, whose update followed that of James Braid’s some twenty nine years before. Thanks to the input of these eminent golfers and golf architects, Stirling has now matured into a course that is both a pleasure to play and a challenge to low and high handicappers alike. Its excellent greens are complemented by lush fairways and its graded rough keeps play moving.

WELCOME to Stirling Golf Club one of the most picturesque courses in Scotland, with inspiring backdrops of the Old Town of Stirling, built on ancient volcanic slopes, crowned by the historic Castle rising above spectacular crags…and there are stunning views in all directions across Central Scotland, the Ochil and Lomond Hills to the east, and the Carse of Stirling, the Trossachs and the Southern Highlands beyond.

Set in the old royal hunting grounds of the Kings Park, Stirling is a golf course of excellent quality and unique character – a golfing experience not to be missed… Formed in 1869 the club celebrated its 140th year in 2009, but we are aware that Kings Park has a much longer association with the game of golf.
