Stromness Golf Course, in the Orkney Islands is a wonderfully scenic course, with great views over to the islands of Graemsay and Hoy, and into the huge natural harbour of Scapa Flow.

The course is not overly long, but is surprisingly tricky, particularly when the wind blows – the par of 65 is typically only beaten a few times during the year.  Quite a few of the greens are small and undulating, and if you’re going to miss them, you need to miss in the right place!  In other words, it’s a fun and challenging course, in a fantastic island setting.

Look beyond the course, and you’ll find Orkney teeming with natural beauty and lots of fascinating history, whether that’s from the two World Wars, or further back, with the extensive Neolithic remains found all over the Islands.

Stromness Golf Club is delighted to invite overseas golfers to apply for membership of the Club.

We’re keen to share our wonderful course, and make connections, with golfers from around the world, and we’re sure that anyone who plays here will recognise what a special place it is.

Overseas membership is an ideal way to maintain a connection with the Orkney golfing community, and to keep in touch with what’s going on at the Club, wherever you are in the world. When you come over for a visit, we’ll do our very best to make your visit an enjoyable and memorable one.
